About

Hey Lady is a wildly popular advice column pushing the power of three: a slap, a squeeze, and a plan to help you power up and onwards.

Because sometimes a friend is actually a foe, sometimes a person is not (meant to be) your person, and sometimes a cigar is really just a cigar [©Freud]. And you need to hear that from a firm but friendly stranger with no agenda.

Hey Lady is also a place for voyeurs to drop by; to read the tea spills, the real-time troubles, and the dodgy decisions of others and to feel like you’re not the only goose who has thought/felt/done the same.

So Who is This Lady?

An empath with attitude, She is not a Goop-endorsed sex therapist, life coach, or an accredited referee. In fact, she is entirely lacking in official qualifications. Her cred comes from being a filter-free, big-sister type who is wearing more years and fine lines, infinitely more fuck ups, and a rap sheet of ill-advised relationships.

She has honed her corporate survival skills across a range of industries, endured toxic workplace behaviour from both sexes (including an unfortunate #metoo incident with a client), and lived through a questionable pants-suit period.

While part of her marinates in a near-constant state of outrage about the state of the planet and its people, positivity is ultimately her preferred mode. She believes in the power of a plan and forward steps — which is why she is a confidante and Chief Counsel to many.
